Ethan Lucas, the creator of Flat Earth Cat, is an artist, author, musician, naturopath, and talk show host (Lightborn.TV). Flat Earth Cat (named Theodore in the comic) is based off of Ethan's childhood Maine Coon cat who weighed about 30lbs.

Ethan began drawing this exact version of Theodore (that you see in this comic strip) when he was 13 years old. The idea to apply him as the main character in this comic strip concept came to him at a Memorial Day weekend party (2023) while making fun of cats and conspiracy theories, in a conversation with Lexi Panagos (co-creator), who colors each drawing that Ethan does, and who also works for Lightborn Ministries with Ethan.
